Ring Road
Construction of Inner Ring Road
OBJECTIVES
The result of Traffic Study carried out by FDA through Consultants suggests that Ring Road be taken up on priority basis.
The main objective for construction of Ring Road is:-
- To connect radial roads.
- To open up new area.
- To reduce congestion from the centre of the city.
X-Sectional Break-up
The total proposed width of Ring Road is 150.ft . Including two 3-lane carriage ways and service roads.
Benefits
According to the result of traffic assignment, this road will attract 228677 trips per day compared to all other major roads of the city.

Canal Road
Importance of Canal Road
- Road has been constructed on both banks of R.B Canal which bisects Faisalabad city into eastern & western sections.
- It connects, Sheikupura, Jaranwala, Satiana & Sammundri Roads by reducing distance between these major roads and provides alternate link bypassing the city center.
- Traffic study carried out by consultants shows that 12500 vehicles use this road per day.
- This road has the potential of developing into an impressive landmark on the pattern of Lahore Canal.
- Being an alternate link & after construction of service road it can be turned into a toll road for generating funds for improvement & maintenance
- A number of prestigious establishments have come up along this road which can be mobilized to contribute towards its development.
Existing Position
- A carpetted road has been constructed by NLC upto bridge chak 204 R.B having 20 feet wide carriageways on both sides and footpath on the canal’s sides.
- From Bridge Chak 204 R.B to Gatwala 20 feet wide T.S.T Road constructed by FDA exists on both sides.
Proposed Improvements
- Carpeting on balance reach.
- Addition of 3 rd lane on both sides.
- Construction of service roads.
- Construction of computerized toll plaza.
